Module 3: Day 3 Seriously Hot Outside

I got up at 6:30 AM, picked up my cousin and we got with the training program asap. It was super hot today. By the time we were done warming up I felt the sun beating down on my head. We might need to get out earlier next week. We did not try out my new game plan simply because it was too hot and did not need to add more movement and expend more energy.

A big focal point today was in our form. We watched seasoned runners pass us and discussed their form, even tested out copying some of their movements. Overall, I would say today was a great run.

What's in 3 minutes of time? A lot of seconds. This module is absolutely improving for me. I can do the 3 minutes without too much pain, although I do start thinking "how many more seconds" probably at around 2 minutes.

There's a concept I learned in martial arts which is what is the difference between one and one thousand? Nothing, it is all in your head. Just like with anything else in life, we endure. It could be waiting for the bell to ring at school, waiting for vacation to come up, praying for 5 o'clock, struggling to go back and forth with a sick relative - you get the point which is we endure.

I work through the 3 minute of struggle because it makes me feel alive. It makes me smile inside because I know that two days ago when I felt like throwing in the towel at the second minute, I didn't. Those 3 minutes give me the courage to push through my ongoing personal issues and challenges which last a lot longer then 3 minutes or 180 seconds.

So between one and one thousand, I am at three. You can only be where your at to get where you want to be.

  1. Hot in the east is definiltey different than hot in the west! It is hot here but we dont' have the humidity-muggy factor going on. I always think of that song "Hot town, summer in the city, back of my neck gettin' dirty and gritty"

(ha ha now you're singing it)
